By now you should have all received the State of the Company update communication mailed to your homes. This letter addresses some of the most common questions posed at the Company Update meetings held earlier this year. You can view a copy of the letter under the employee communications tab on the company intranet.
Earlier this month Azzarelli Paving & Site Development took delivery of their new Weiler P385B Commercial Paver. This marks the first delivery since Ring Power was named the exclusive dealer for Weiler commercial paving products for North & Central Florida.
The Weiler commercial paving line includes the P385B, P265, and P65 commercial pavers, P195 path paver, CT3 utility class pneumatic tire roller, and TT250 and TT500 tack distributors.
The Power Systems division will soon embark on a project to migrate from their current project management tool, Lotus Notes EBMS, to Uptake’s CRM application called “iMACS” (a.k.a. Intranet Material Acquisition Control System). iMACS is a role-based online collaboration tool that provides an end-to-end solution, beginning with the sales rep’s quote to the customer. Upon receiving a customer order, iMACS then allows the team to set up each project, attach multiple inventoried units, create a custom Bill of Materials and purchase orders for outside vendors, set up a budget and track the project through to completion. Numerous different views and reports are available within iMACS to provide quick and easy access to information, help manage the project financials and provide visibility to the project backlog and timelines. Similar to our other CRM applications, iMACS is seamlessly integrated with SalesLink and DBS to help streamline everyday processes, and provide a single location for all project information, documentation and workflow tasks.
“For many years our team has utilized the EBMS system to support our business. As we have grown year on year, and now handling well over 1k projects annually, the iMACS tool is the next logical step in better supporting our customers and delivering exceptional results. Our customers and our team members will all benefit with this change,” said Keith Moore, Vice President New Engine Business Manager.
Ring Power’s CRM solutions suite continues to grow and evolve, allowing employees all over the company to capitalize on the features, benefits and information contained in these tools. Each division continues to look for creative ways to streamline their current processes by using the tools in the CRM, and eliminating the need for multiple systems. If you have any questions regarding the solutions available, or require additional training, please feel free to contact Deborah Styring, CRM Solutions Project & Support Manager, at x1439 or deborah.styring@Ringpower.com.
Ring Power was on prominent display during this year’s NASCAR Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on July 7. Fans in the stadium and watching on television saw this special paint job on the No. 51 car as it sped around the track!
We are all feeling a shortage of technicians in today’s workforce. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as of 2018 there were about 442,000 (.1 percent of US population) industrial machine technicians in the U.S workforce, less than 3 percent of those techs are women. Sylvia Reyes is making moves to change that, and increase the number of total technicians we have available.
For the past two years, Sylvia has worked as the Branch Administrator at Ring Power Lift Truck’s Miami facility. Recently, she developed a curiosity for a deeper understanding of lift trucks and decided to register for our online Technical Lift trucks course. This course helped her meet the prerequisites to get hands-on training in our instructor-led technical training class.
In May, Sylvia completed multiple hours of training, and earned IC Engine Control and Fuel Systems I certification—which she passed with flying colors. Gaining this certification, she became the first woman to complete the Ring Power Lift Truck Technical Training. However, Sylvia isn’t finished. She has a student mentality and plans to continue learning and developing skills beyond her current role.
She is currently enrolled in model-specific courses and intends to get enough training under her belt to assist with other classes. Eventually, she may decide to take her acquired knowledge and pursue a position in the service department or as a field technician. Kudos, Sylvia!
Ten teachers from two of Iceland’s technical high schools got away from chilly Iceland and visited sunny WCC last month to learn how we train our technicians. The group learned the fundamentals of electric power generation and customer service for field technicians. Abel Posada and Gabe Sacco facilitated the training.
On Aug. 2, the newest class of ThinkBIG scholarship recipients and their families gathered at WCC for “signing day.”
Over the next two years, they will rotate in eight-week intervals between classroom instruction at South Georgia Technical College and hands-on training at their Ring Power branch.
Six of the students will follow the heavy equipment technician track; three will complete the generator technician track. Upon graduation in 2021, all of the students will have earned an Associate Degree in Applied Technology.
The Group 19 ThinkBIG students are:
Colby Klipstine St. Augustine Heavy Equipment
Collin Nye Orlando Heavy Equipment
Garrett Hultquist St. Augustine Power Systems
Jake Stallings Palm Bay Power Systems
Garrett Lee Robinette St. Augustine Heavy Equipment
Zack Brate Tampa Heavy Equipment
Wyatt Davis St. Augustine Heavy Equipment
Josh Roberts Ocala Heavy Equipment
Dylan Hackett Palm Bay Power Systems
Congratulations, everyone! Good luck with your studies. For more information on Ring Power's Technician Scholarship program, visit www.ringpower.com/thinkbig
The St. Petersburg police department recently presented Ring Power Tactical Solutions with this plaque recognizing them for their training and support of the department with The Rook Armored Critical Incident Vehicle.
On July 1 our new Incident Management System, VelocityEHS, was launched. This software platform replaced our previous pen-and-paper method of documenting and investigating incidents.
As of the beginning of August, 31 incidents were reported through VelocityEHS. More importantly, 7 near misses and 5 hazards were reported! Identifying these near misses and hazards gives us the opportunity to fix them without causing an injury to an employee or a financial loss to the company.
Every employee has access to the software, and can use it to report unsafe acts and hazardous conditions in addition to incidents involving injury or damage. To ensure everyone is aware of the features of the system, an introductory video was assigned in Edge to all employees. If you haven’t already done so, please log on to EDGE and view the short video. VelocityEHS and EDGE can both be accessed from our intranet homepage.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is used to protect Ring Power email accounts from hackers. MFA is triggered when you log into Office365 with your email address and password for the first time or when you log in from a new location. MFA makes it harder for hackers to log in and compromise your email account and the Ring Power network.
Here are a few points to consider when MFA is implemented:
• Make sure MFA is on. If you are unsure your email is using MFA, please contact the IT Department.
• You have two options to confirm MFA. You can have a text message sent to you with a verification code, or you can have the process call you so you can press # to confirm.
• If by any chance you receive a call or text message that you didn’t request, DO NOT press # or put in the code. When this happens, it means hackers are trying to log into your account. Blindly accepting these requests will open your account to numerous attacks.
If you have any questions or concerns relating to MFA, please contact the IT Help Desk.
Ring Power values the health and wellbeing of every employee and seeks to create an environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle. Accordingly, as executive management made the rounds earlier this year conducting employee meetings, we were very happy to see the interest in our gym reimbursement program.
Effective July 1, the reimbursement amount for fitness activities has increased 50 percent. Prior to this change, the maximum reimbursement for fitness activities was $10 per month. The new reimbursement allowance is $45 per quarter.
To make the program more flexible and reduce the administrative burden of submitting monthly reports, reimbursement periods have changed from monthly to quarterly. At least 24 qualifying fitness activity sessions are required per calendar quarter to be eligible for reimbursement.
In addition to the quarterly fitness reimbursement, employees can receive reimbursement for other healthy activities & competitions (Weight Watchers, Biggest Loser, etc.)

Please direct questions you may have on the new policy to Shelley Minzenberg at 904-494-1248.
Employee Family Fun Day events are planned for four locations this fall. These events will feature fun activities, entertainment, and lunch for the entire family.
