Vol. 8, No. 13 — November 2020
The new Cat® Trial has officially been launched, and 40 years after its release, PAC-MAN™ is taking center stage with a giant leap from the virtual world into a live action version of the game. Chasing ghosts, eating PAC-DOTS, and digging foundations are all in a day’s work. With the help of skilled operators, Cat built a life-sized game board using the latest Cat machines, attachments, and technology.

The Utility Equipment division hosted an open house at its new Temple, Texas branch Monday, November 2.
Customers and vendors visited the branch to meet the service technicians, parts specialists and account managers that service them in Texas and beyond.
Food trucks and live music were on hand to greet visitors, along with a selection of equipment for demos including a Terex TM125 transmission bucket truck, Terex Commander 4047 digger derrick, Spiradrill LHD-50 hydraulic digger and a Terex TC55 bucket truck.
The Utility Equipment tool trailer was on hand to display its selection of tools from Makita, Klein, Bashlin and many more.
It was also an opportunity for Utility employees from other branches to meet and get to know their new Lone-Star-State colleagues.
The WCC admin team went all out for the holiday!
Walkiria Medina (Palm Bay Receptionist)
Blake Brown (WCC Crane Shop Lead) inspired his son, Elijah, to dress up as a technician.
The Tampa Marketing team was feeling a bit cartoonish.
Over the last several months, there have been several failures of overhead doors.
When a spring or cable breaks, gravity will bring the door down at a high rate of speed. Between the speed, weight and force of the door, a failure can lead to a serious, or fatal injury. Thankfully, no such injuries have occurred at one of our facilities. We want to keep it that way!
The most recent occurrence happened during shop close at the end of a workday. Because of a bad motor, the door needed to be closed manually. While being closed, the door moved approximately 3-4 inches and then stopped. When the employee closing the door went to find a supervisor, the cable snapped and the door rapidly crashed to the floor, only a few steps away from the employee.
This is a reminder of why we must continually inspect our equipment and be aware of everyday things like overhead doors, and the hazards they present.
Please note that the new Safety SOP on stretching has been published in the Safety SOPs section on the Ring Power intranet. This document incorporates the feedback we received from the leadership. Click here to view.
